Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) continues to be dogged by the allegations that he wears lifts in his boots to appear taller in public. John Oliver added his voice to the matter on Sunday for his show "Last Week Tonight."

According to the host, the short-lived presidential candidate had the worst comeback he could possibly come up with.

Former White House counsel John Dean, who served under Richard Nixon's presidency, had some advice for Donald Trump ahead of his first day on the stand in the New York court on Monday.

Speaking to CNN's Jim Acosta on Sunday, Dean, explained that the amount of trouble that Trump can make for himself is "infinite."

Donald Trump Jr. and his brother Eric have already testified in the New York fraud trial, and their father, Donald Sr., is scheduled for Monday. Former federal prosecutor Shan Wu doesn't anticipate there's much the former president can do to save himself that his sons haven't already said.

"If I were [Donald Trump's] lawyer, I would not want him to be exposed for it," explained Wu, speaking to Symone Sanders-Townsend. "But he has a tendency to go off. I think it'll start off kind of concise and focused, but I'm sure he'll start to meander and speechify in terms of substance. There isn't that much that he can say that would convince the judge any different from what his two sons of already testified to. He's unlikely to do a better job than they have done, which isn't that great. So, I do look for him to meander off and start to make a lot of statements."

Rolling Stone highlighted a 2022 video of new Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) from the "War on Technology” conference, where he confessed that he and his sons monitor each other's usage of adult videos online.

Johnson was at Benton, Louisiana’s Cypress Baptist Church, according to a video unearthed by social media user Receipt Maven this week. According to Rolling Stone, Johnson was talking about the "accountability software" he installed called Covenant Eyes on devices to ensure he didn't stray into unsavory websites.

An Indianapolis woman was arrested after she drove her car into a building. The plot, however, wasn't an accident, it was a planned attack that has since earned her the legal label of an alleged "terrorist."

Judge Aileen Cannon has been criticized over the past several days for a rookie move confusing a court rule with a procedure.

Legal expert and former Justice Department prosecutor Andrew Weissmann pointed to a document in Donald Trump's fraud trial that could sink him in the 2020 federal election case.

Weissmann was watching the fraud case in New York on Wednesday when he saw that Donald Trump Jr. was asked about the actions around the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust. While Don. Jr. said that he didn't do much and didn't know much, one thing he did reveal is that in Jan. 15, 2021, Trump Sr. took over the trust immediately after leaving the White House. Up until that point, CFO Allen Weisselberg and Don Jr. were in charge of the trust.
