Florida Republican calls Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz's speaker upheaval a 'coup'

NBC News reporter Garrett Haake revealed that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) can count on at least one no-vote from his Replican colleagues when it comes to the speaker nomination ballot.

Speaking to Rep. Carlos A. Giménez (R-FL), Haake asked whether he's changed his position from the start of the overthrow of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Republican Rep. Ann Wagner (MO) was sarcastically mocked for her "backbone of steel" after she said on Thursday she would not support Jordan – but caved in on Monday.

'Insane': Trump lawyer blasted by MSNBC host for claiming right to attack court staff

Donald Trump was partially gagged in a court order Monday which forbade the former president from making attacks against the judge, prosecutors and their families.

Judge Tanya Chutkan approved the limited gag order on Trump, who regularly attacks those involved in the trial on social media and in his speeches. There was concern that he will also try to intimidate witnesses by attacking them on his social media accounts.

John Oliver admits the joke he wanted to tell about Matt Gaetz was cut by lawyers

"Last Week Tonight" host John Oliver began his Sunday show after a special message about the attack on Israel and the retaliation on Gaza. The four-minute segment appeared prior to the opening title sequence and focused on the atrocities on both sides and the politicians who have refused to find peace for decades.

It was only after the show officially began that the comedy started and the HBO host lit into Congress for the ongoing dysfunction that even Rep. George Santos (R-NY) couldn't get behind. Oliver mocked the embattled Republican for claiming Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) refused to ask for his vote. When asked if he was snubbed, Santos swore he wasn't, but Oliver pointed out, his voice said he "absolutely was."
