Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) appeared on CBS's "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" this week when the topic of the recent interview with Christopher Steele came up.

In an interview with ABC News's George Stephanopoulos, Steele claimed that he stands by everything in his now-infamous dossier, but then acknowledged that there are inaccuracies.

"Daily Show" correspondent Jordan Klepper has released a fresh set of interviews with supporters of former President Donald Trump who attended a rally in Iowa a few weekends ago.

What Klepper found in Iowa is a large contingent of Trump supporters who firmly believe that he won the 2020 election, that he definitively lost.

As part of a discussion about former President Donald Trump's lawsuits, former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance and legal expert for The Nation, Elie Mystal, both concluded that the ex-president has finally hit the wall.

According to Mystal, Trump's latest lawsuit trying to prevent the documents around the Jan. 6 attack seemed like a blatant coverup attempt.

Former President Donald Trump testified in a lawsuit Monday, but when it comes to subpoenas involving the House Jan. 6 Select Committee, he's blocking any access to information, interviews, or witnesses who worked for him.

Monday afternoon, Trump's team announced they were suing the Capitol riot committee to block its subpoenas.

The Jan. 6 House Select Committee released a statement saying that they intend to "move quickly" to hold Steve Bannon in criminal contempt if he refuses the subpoena to appear.

Bannon, who wasn't working for the White House at the time the Capitol riots were taking place, is attempting to assert executive privilege to block the subpoena.

Former deputy Attorney General Harry Litman revealed that President Donald Trump was probed about his racism during his deposition on Monday in the case brought by protesters attacked by Trump's bodyguard during his first presidential campaign.

According to statements from the plaintiff's attorney Ben Dictor, "The President was exactly how you would expect him to be, he answered questions the way you would expect Mr. Trump to answer questions and conducted himself in a manner that you would expect Mr. Trump to conduct himself."

The late Gen. Colin Powell leaves behind him a complicated record in his service to the United States, and according to one reporter it was something he remained "angry" about.

Speaking to MSNBC on Monday, Washington Post national security reporter Karen Deyoung explained that his infamous Iraq speech before the United Nations was always something he regretted and "he called a blot on his record and the invasion of Iraq, which he didn't think was a good idea."

Landing in Nevada on Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about the role of Gen. Colin Powell as the first Black chairman of the Joint Chiefs, first Black National Security Adviser, and first Black Secretary of State and how his service brought the United States into a modern era of representation. One reporter, however, wanted to talk about the fact that Powell died of COVID-19 complications despite being vaccinated.

"What is your message for Americans who know that he was fully vaccinated with COVID, who now remain skeptical about getting the vaccine, despite the fact that yes, did he have the cancer diagnosis as well?" the reporter asked.

The American Prospect is reporting that Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell dumped between $1 million and $5 million in his personal stock before the COVID-19 crisis and the economic crash that began in early 2020.

"Powell's sale of shares from a Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund has not been previously reported. This sale occurred right before the Dow Jones Industrial Average suffered a significant drop," said the report.

In the wake of an ABC News interview with Christopher Steele, Michael Cohen released a special episode of his podcast, "Mea Culpa," where he addressed some of the allegations against him and some claims made against Trump.

Cohen recalled that last week, Trump told major political donors, unprompted, that he doesn't like to be urinated on. The former lawyer wondered why Trump is so obsessed with this story that even years later he can't stop talking about it.

In a column by Fred Hiatt, the Washington Post writer explained that Trumpism and all that it entitles is now being mainstreamed by not just the GOP but interest groups like The Japan-American Society of Washington, D.C.

His Sunday column cited the group's embrace of Donald Trump's former Japanese ambassador-turned-senator, Bill Hagerty (R-TN), who was a "featured guest" and "honorary chairman" of the Japan-American Society event gala this week.
