Baboons, self-owns and smut: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Facebook page is a hot mess

A year later, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is still learning a hard lesson about basic social media safety.

After failing last year to take the elementary step of tightening her privacy settings on Facebook, people are again tagging Greene in a variety of derogatory, misogynistic — and even pornographic — images that appear in the “tagged photos” section of her Facebook page.

Pence bombshell resurfaces old questions about Chuck Grassley and January 6

An ABC News bombshell report revealing then-Vice President Mike Pence had, at one point, decided to not preside over the January 6 joint congressional session to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election is once again bringing up questions about remarks U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) had made one day before the event.

The comments were interpreted by some as him announcing that he, and not the Vice President, would be presiding over the proceedings. Grassley later denied the claim.

'Fake history': How an 'extreme' SCOTUS case threatens the 'legitimacy' of the government

In a Monday op-ed for The Atlantic, New York University law professor Noah Rosenblum admonished the United States Supreme Court to smack down an "antidemocratic ploy" that could ultimately "destroy" the federal government.

A conservative Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals used what Rosenbaum calls "fake history" to rule against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in favor of right-wing activist and radio show host George R. Jarkesy Jr.

RNC tightening its belt to ‘keep the party from going into the red’: report

Just four years ago, heading in to the 2020 presidential election, the Republican National Committee reported it had $61 million on hand. Now, facing what is expected to be the most expensive presidential election ever, the RNC has just $9.1 million in cash, while the Democratic National Committee reports nearly twice that much: $17.7 million.

"Donors have not cut as many large checks to the RNC in recent years, and the party’s small-dollar program has also suffered," The Washington Post reports, adding, "finances are increasingly worrisome to party members, advisers to former president Donald Trump, and other operatives."

House GOPers gunning for Gaetz as ethics probe expands to 'broader range' of violations

Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) role as the ringleader behind the ouster of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has created enduring resentment among more than a few of the Florida Republican's House colleagues who have grown weary of his grandstanding ways.

According to a report from the Daily Beast's Sam Brodey, Gaetz's unpopularity among Republicans he serves with in the House has grown with one Republican telling the Beast, "There aren’t a lot of people who, you know, are gonna go out of their way to defend Matt Gaetz. I mean, he’s a pretty diabolical character.”

'Score-settling fiction': Marjorie Taylor Greene's new book slammed by legal expert

Former GOP congressman invites scrutiny by using campaign cash for 'security'

In a terse note responding to the Federal Election Commission, the old campaign committee for former Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said it intends to keep operating even if the congressman has no intention of again running for office.

But the FEC also has questions about how it is operating, including thousands in expenses for security, which is allowed for sitting members of Congress but not former members.

‘Ridiculed by many’: Rep. Dean Phillips is the Dem presidential candidate no Dem wants

WASHINGTON — Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) has a presidential tour bus and a welcoming slogan — “Everyone’s Invited!” — but no one in Washington seems to even care about his longshot primary challenge to President Joe Biden.

Asking Democrats about Phillips’ run gets awkward real quick. When Raw Story asked Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) about the congressman with whom she sat through freshman orientation in 2019, the congresswoman fell silent for a full 30 seconds, first in the hall and then in an elevator.

Here's why taxpayers just paid another $1.3 million into an unused government fund

A largely unused government fund intended to pay for presidential elections continues to grow with monthly taxpayer infusions — adding nearly $1.3 million last month, according to a Raw Story analysis of U.S. Treasury records.

The Presidential Election Campaign Fund has accumulated $400.6 million in taxpayer-funded money as of Oct. 31 — funds that will likely continue to sit in a bureaucratic black hole for years, Treasury records show. The fund ballooned to more than $445.6 million as of June 30, but a nearly $47.5 million disbursement for pediatric research at the National Institutes of Health of money formerly used to put on party conventions decreased the pool of idle dollars.

‘Denying career advancement to white straight men’: Stephen Miller targets Macy's

Called the architect of the Trump administration's migrant child separation policies and anti-Muslim travel ban, Stephen Miller is now focused on targeting corporate America's efforts to improve diversity through his America First Legal organization. AFL says it has filed a federal complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) "against Macy’s, Inc. for apparent illegal racial discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964."

On social media announcing the federal EEOC complaint, Miller's AFL on Tuesday wrote: "Before you tune into the Thanksgiving Day Parade or go Black Friday shopping at @Macys, you should know that Macy’s appears to maintain policies that perpetuate illegal racial discrimination — denying career advancement to white straight men."
