Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s speech at a Florida rally took an alarming turn Friday when an apparent medical emergency sent Dr. Mehmet Oz rushing into the crowd.
The moment happened as Kennedy delivered remarks ahead of President Donald Trump’s scheduled appearance at Alico Arena at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, when MAGA supporters behind him began calling out and gesturing toward Kennedy to draw his attention to a commotion in the audience.
Oz, a former heart surgeon who heads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, sprang into action, hopping over two railings before rushing up the bleachers to help. He was then seen escorting the individual out of the venue.
Kennedy wrapped up his remarks shortly after, as attention shifted to the unfolding emergency.
The interruption brought Kennedy’s remarks to an abrupt end as attention shifted to the unfolding emergency.
“Let’s all say a prayer for that person,” Kennedy told the crowd.
“God bless all of you. And God bless Donald Trump. And God bless America. Thank you all very, very much,” Kennedy said before leaving the stage.
It’s not the first time Oz has rushed to help at a Trump event. In March, he aided a woman who collapsed during Trump’s speech in Kentucky.
