Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt explained he shares some policy ideas with President Donald Trump — but argued he differs significantly on immigration enforcement.

While both former reality TV stars appeal to similar constituencies with tough-on-crime platforms, Pratt explicitly opposes ICE raids at restaurants and stores, he said. He told Vanity Fair, "I don't want ICE here but I want to get the murderers and rapists out."

Pratt's campaign centers on a proposed treatment facility on federal lands to housing thousands of homeless people experiencing substance disorders.

Though criticized for lacking political experience and receiving Trump's praise, Pratt does not identify as MAGA. He emphasized his affinity for Mexican culture and its cuisine to distinguish himself from Trump's immigration stance.

Pratt's infrastructure proposal mirrors Trump's border wall promise in its ambitious scope and rushed timeline expectations, both projects have faced cost and feasibility questions.
