Trump accused of making 'mob boss threat' against Jack Smith in documents case
Donald Trump on Saturday lashed out against Special Counsel Jack Smith, saying the prosecutor's recent moves in the criminal Espionage Act case in Florida will "backfire."
Smith recently moved to amend Trump's pre-trial terms in the case over stashed classified documents, saying Trump should be limited from statements that could endanger the lives of law enforcement. The request came after Trump and his allies spread a false rumor that President Joe Biden's justice department sought to use "deadly force" against Trump during its search for documents at Trump's Mar-a-Lago golf resort.
Experts have suggested the move by Smith will put pressure on Judge Aileen Cannon, who is overseeing the case, or reveal bias in favor of the man who appointed her to her spot on the bench....
