Tillis cut off by fed-up MS NOW host in clash over Blanche: 'Not going to say that here'

An interview with Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) grew contentious on Tuesday morning with MS NOW host Stephanie Ruhle when he accused her of using a “liberal” talking point.

Invited on to plug his book, “How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Presidents,” the conversation took a turn for the worse when it turned to his Senate votes to confirm controversial Donald Trump nominees, Pete Hegseth and Kristi Noem.

When it came to Attorney General Todd Blanche, whom Tillis briefly opposed, only to roll over for the president, Ruhle got under Tillis’ skin.

“Well, I do know in the case of Todd Blanche, I think that we have a solid AG," he told the host before adding, “He's proven to me to be a professional that I think is right for the role, but these other folks, they're just out of their depth.”

When Ruhle countered back with, “Let's go back to Todd Blanche, because you held up his confirmation because you were worried about this anti-weaponization fund and you secured some sort of agreement that it wasn't going to move forward with it. It kind of feels like they're looking —.”

“Nah, that’s just a liberal narrative — it is dead,” Tillis interrupted.

“You know what? You’re not going to say that here: ‘That’s a liberal narrative,’” Ruhle repeated.

“No, I'm not talking about you,” the GOP lawmaker backpedaled. “I've heard it back home. I heard it from my colleagues on Judiciary.”
