Elon Musk, long a self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist,” said teachers should be imprisoned for educating students on America’s history of racism and Native American land theft. Responding to a 2022 student survey, Musk claimed lessons about systemic inequality and historical oppression “destroy patriotism” and labeled such teaching “treason.” Critics immediately called out the billionaire’s stance as anti-free speech and hypocritical, highlighting his history of censoring those who oppose him while defending ideological allies.
