Donald Trump’s continued obsession with regaling rally crowds with descriptions of the physiques of Republican candidates, with an emphasis on the rear ends, raised some questions on MS NOW Wednesday morning.
According to “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski, she thinks the 80-year-old president’s advanced age has impacted his ability to filter what comes out of his mouth — more so than usual for the unrestrained Trump
Speaking on Tuesday at a rally in Greenville, North Carolina, the president, for some reason, rambled about Sen. Jon Husted who is seeking to hold onto his Senate seat in Ohio.
The president told the crowd, "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course." He then added, "But I looked at his a—, and then I looked at his legs. I said, 'His a—, s—, it's like—it's like a pile of muscle. Then I looked at his legs, and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'”
After sharing the clip on Wednesday morning, the clearly baffled Brzezinski prompted co-host Willie Geist with, “Okay for the third time in eight days and three different states, President Trump is praising the physique of Republican Senator Jon Husted of Ohio.”
“Willie, I know that, like, as people get older, sometimes things come out. But I'm, I'm just what's going on here?” she asked. “Is this like a fun little trigger for the press? Or are we, like seeing the process of aging playing out in real life? What, what's with the obsession with the male body?”
“I don't know, but it is a relentless obsession and it's getting more frequent by the day,” Geist replied. “This is, as you said, the third time he's talked about Senator Husted's rear end, talked about [NFL’s New York] Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart's legs a lot. He has male service members stand up so he can examine their bodies and talk about the parts you like.”
“I don't know what's going on, but I don't know, a lot of people seem to think it's pretty obvious what's going on, but we'll leave it to that,” he quipped.
