A Republican congressman has abruptly changed his tune on country music star Jelly Roll after the singer delivered a brutal series of jokes about President Donald Trump on late-night TV.

Rep. Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) once warmly welcomed Jelly Roll to his Florida Panhandle-area district, according to a June 2024 post on X, which resurfaced Wednesday by MeidasTouch editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski.

“How about it @JellyRoll615?” Patronis wrote at the time. “Welcome to the Gulf Coast Jam!”

But Patronis reversed his tone after Jelly Roll mocked Trump’s weight and physical fitness during his guest-hosting stint Monday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The Grammy-nominated singer “is 100% not welcome to Florida’s panhandle,” Patronis wrote in a social media post Wednesday. “I don’t even want to see his bus on I-10.”

During his late-night appearance, Jelly Roll joked about his own 300-pound weight loss, quipping that he had “lost an entire Donald Trump.”

“Well, Mr. President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important.” Jelly Roll said. “Trust me, you’ll be happy to see your pe**s again.”

Patronis defended Trump Wednesday, taking a swipe at Jelly Roll over his country music credentials.

“He’s always been the token ‘country’ star the libs in California are allowed to enjoy,” the lawmaker wrote. “(He ain’t country, never was.) Take the TDS elsewhere, loser.”
