A group of devout supporters of President Donald Trump gathered for his rally in Durant, Oklahoma, were pressed on their beliefs by an anchor from the far-right Real America's Voice — and they gave a series of strange manifestos in his defense and against Muslims.
One woman, when asked about the situation with gas prices, said people just need to "ride it out, because he's going to fix it. Believe in him, stand strong, and we will be okay."
The woman standing next to her added that it's imperative Republicans win in November, because "All the abortion, it's evil. That's one thing that Trump stands for: us Christians. We're being killed everywhere. We don't have anybody to stand up for Christians anymore. I want to see two people — Trump and Jesus, and if we don't keep our party, we won't have a country anymore. We do not want Muslims taking over ... we don't believe in mutilation here."
The original woman, questioned about her own opinion on Muslims, said, "I have horrible thoughts. I don't think they should be here. This isn't their country ... they need to pack up their stuff and go back to where they came from."
John O'Brennan, a professor of European politics in Ireland, weighed in on the whole exchange on X, posting, "Christ, the sheer madness of the Trump cult is breathtaking."
While these voters appear unwavering in their support, elsewhere around the country, Trump supporters are increasingly voicing their regrets as the war in Iran and economic outlook continue to deteriorate.
