Trump erupts in massive late-night golf rant blaming judge if anyone is 'hurt or killed'

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social late on Wednesday night to blast the condition of a historic Washington, D.C., golf course in more than 300 words. He said he would hold the federal judge who blocked his renovation plans “fully responsible” if anyone is hurt there.

“East Potomac Golf Course is highly dangerous, dilapidated, and absolutely disgusting,” Trump wrote in a post published at 10:43 p.m. ET. “Below are new photos of the deplorable conditions of the driving range building, including excrement in the stairwell.”

Trump posted eight photos of the course, showing torn netting, broken railings, exposed rafters, and a patchy, brown driving range.

“The gaping holes in the driving range’s ‘protective’ netting are highly hazardous,” he wrote. “Golf balls soar through the holes at high speed and hit unexpecting Golfers—including a White House staffer who was, sadly, hit violently in the chest.”

He called the course “a National Disgrace” and a “barren, debris-ridden wasteland.” He promised to turn it into a “WORLD CLASS PUBLIC Golf Course that is AFFORDABLE for locals — Just like the Great and Historic Public Courses of Torrey Pines and Bethpage Black, only better.”

Then he turned on the judge.

“We will hold the judge, Ana C. Reyes, fully responsible for anybody who is hurt, or killed, on this very dangerous, dilapidated, and unsightly Golf Course,” Trump wrote.

Reyes, a Biden appointee on the federal bench in Washington, recently extended an order blocking the administration’s overhaul of the 106-year-old public course, the Associated Press reported. The preliminary injunction bars the government from removing or damaging more trees and requires 10 days’ written notice before any “irreparable modification” to the course while a lawsuit plays out.

The suit was brought by the D.C. Preservation League and two golfers after crews cut down at least 400 trees over a holiday weekend with little notice, according to the AP. Trump announced Oct. 18 that he would close the course for 15 months starting Nov. 15 to redevelop it. The administration has said it will appeal, and Reyes rejected its request that she recuse herself.
