Another key member of President Donald Trump’s administration could be on their way out the door as a result of the president’s collapsing poll numbers.
During a “Morning Joe” discussion on new Gallup polling showing the president at a second-term low, with only 36 percent approving of the job he is doing, co-host Joe Scarborough noted that immigration is no longer a winning issue for the administration.
That led to the topic turning to MAGA distaste for Department of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, who walked away from his safe Senate seat to replace the fired Kristi Noem.
According to MS NOW’s Jonathan Lemire, things do not look good for the embattled Mullin.
"The Trump administration has so misjudged how the American people feel about that [immigration roundups]," Lemire offered. “Yes, there are some extremists on the right who are cheering for this, who are pushing the administration for more.”
“We talked about earlier this week about how Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin is under real pressure from the right, and President Trump has started to ask people around him about how do you think he's doing? What kind of job is he doing? Which is usually a bad sign for your employment security.”
