Mockery erupts as camera exposes 'embarrassing' size of Trump’s red state rally venue

A single camera shot from President Donald Trump's latest rally sparked a wave of online ridicule, with critics zeroing in on one detail.

The footage, shared Tuesday by MeidasTouch digital editor Acyn Torabi, panned across the venue from Trump's rally in Corpus Christi, Texas, showing a modest space that critics compared to a high school gym, a preschool graduation and a pole barn.

Trump also scheduled a Lubbock rally the same day, as Republicans use the final week before the midterms to shore up competitive South Texas House races, including Republican Eric Flores' challenge to Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez.

"He can't even fill a high school gymnasium anymore," quipped anti-Trump commentator Joanne Carducci, known online as JoJoFromJerz, on X.

Independent journalist Aaron Rupar joked that the turnout made for a "comparable crowd to my kid's preschool graduation."

Democratic strategist Keith Edwards went further. "MAGA is in free fall," he declared.

X user Lucas Sanders shared the clip and remarked that it "looks like MAGA is drying on the inside."

Trans activist Ari Drennen, who said she worked on Hillary Clinton's advance team in 2016, offered a comparison from the campaign trail. "This is the kind of crowd we were getting for the Vice Presidential candidate's wife," she recalled. "And we lost."

Claude Taylor, founder of the anti-Trump Mad Dog PAC, kept it brief. "Embarrassing..." he reacted.

"For the president of the United States that's tiny," argued content creator and popular online personality Jared Shult.

Jeff Timmer, a former executive director of the Michigan Republican Party, had a more rural point of reference. "Is he in my pole barn?" he asked.

Political commentator Doug Landry sarcastically offered "credit where due" by suggesting the footage showed "honestly a good example of right-sizing a venue and setup by an advance team."

"One of the smaller POTUS maga rallies in some time but it looks full," Landry observed.
