Speaking to Slate, researcher Carolyn Aldwin said Trump’s frequent unfinished sentences and word substitutions may signal cognitive decline that can only be confirmed through testing. The scrutiny intensified after Trump bragged about acing a cognitive exam, which Dr. Vin Gupta noted is typically used when physicians are screening for age-related impairment or early dementia.
