A Beltway insider issued a dire prediction Wednesday as reports revealed President Donald Trump made nearly 28,700 stock trades in 17 months.

During an appearance on “Morning Joe,” political journalist and pundit John Heilemann analyzed a new Bloomberg analysis that found Trump traded more securities than every member of Congress combined since his return to office in 2025.

"It is shocking," Heilemann said. Heilemann then offered a dark prediction about the scope of Trump's personal enrichment.

"I've rarely been as confident in a prediction as I am in saying that after he is out of office, we are going to find out that the amount of profiteering inside the White House is going to be an order of magnitude larger," he said.

“I mean, however big you think it is, how horrifying it is right now, we're going to find out,” he continued. “We can take bets around the table... there's going to be a lot.”

Co-host Joe Scarborough interjected to predict much of the Trump family's newly accrued wealth would later be linked to “foreign powers."

Heilemann agreed.

"Especially from foreign powers who are hostile to America's interests, are hostile to American safety, are in fact, providing satellite imagery to kill U.S. troops, are working with the Iranians to kill U.S. troops," he said.
