A fashion guru spotted a damning detail in the suit President Donald Trump chose to wear at his Nebraska rally Tuesday.
Trump traveled to Grand Island, Nebraska, to stump for Republicans like Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-NE) against independent candidate Dan Osborn and other lawmakers as the GOP attempts to retain its Congressional majority following the 2026 midterms. The rally was part of Trump's promise to do as many campaign stops as possible ahead of the election, a move that some Republicans in vulnerable seats have shied away from.
After the Nebraska rally, photos of Trump flaunting his suit made by Joseph A. Bank appeared online. Derek Guy, menswear writer and editor at Put This On, noticed one conspicuous detail about the label on Trump's suit and pointed it out on social media.
"Interesting. Jos. A. Bank suits are all made overseas, typically in countries like China and Bangladesh," Guy wrote. "They carry an associate label called Joseph Abboud, which is made in the United States. I wonder why Trump chose the cheap import over the US-made suit."
Trump has a long history of wearing foreign-made suits. Reports indicate he has had a long-standing relationship with the Italian suitmaker Brioni, which provided suits for Trump during his time on "The Apprentice."
The Jos. A. Bank suit also raised questions about Trump's claims that his administration is reviving American businesses. That's despite recent economic numbers showing the economy has stalled as hiring continues to flatline.
