MSNBC host berates Democrats for talking about jobs while 'Jared Kushner is walking to the microphone'
MSNBC host Chris Jansing on Monday chastised Democratic lawmakers for unveiling a jobs plan at the same time as President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner was giving an impromptu address to reporters.
Minutes after Kushner held a closed door meeting with the Senate Intelligence Committee on Monday, the top Trump adviser made an unexpected appearance outside the White House to say that he had not "colluded" with Russia during the 2016 campaign.
At the same time, Democrats were unveiling their "Better Deal" jobs agenda, which seemed to annoy Jansing.
"I'm out of time but I have to ask you, what do you make of Democrats -- while they know this is happening -- they say that they have this big message that they need to get out there on the economy," the MSNBC host told two guests. "And they're doing it at the same time they know that Jared Kushner is going to be walking to the microphone."
"Democrats have to continue to work for the American people," former National Security Council spokesperson Ned Price replied. "They can't put their agenda on hold just because this administration is enmeshed in this Russia mess."
"Although maybe they could have done it for an hour or two and gotten a little more airtime," Jansing shrugged before moving onto her next segment, which was purportedly about the Democratic plan but featured only 30 seconds of audio from the event.
"Is there anything new, different, exciting -- something that's going to break through all the other noise?" she wondered.
