Anti-masker gets in a fight with cop — then tries to grab his gun

Another anti-mask altercation turned violent, but this time it was the police officer that was narrowly the victim.

A local Vancouver news site reported police were called when a maskless man was inside of a gas station at around 4:30 a.m. He allegedly lunged at the officers attempting to grab the firearm of one of the officers.

Americans handed life sentences in Italy for cop murder

An Italian court convicted two young Americans Wednesday for the murder of a police officer while they were on a summer holiday in Rome, with both handed life sentences.

Finnegan Lee Elder, 21, had admitted stabbing Mario Cerciello Rega during a late-night encounter in July 2019, while out with his friend Gabriel Natale-Hjorth, 20.

In the dispute over post-Brexit fishing licences for French vessels in the English Channel, fishermen from France have reportedly demonstrated with their boats off the British Channel island of Jersey.

The French fishing boats had positioned themselves in the harbour of St Helier on Thursday morning in such a way that fishing boats from Jersey could not leave, the broadcaster France 3 reported.

Positive data for Moderna booster against COVID variants

US biotech firm Moderna on Wednesday announced initial data from a small clinical trial that showed its booster shots improved people's immune responses against key coronavirus variants of concern.

A child no older than three laid to rest sideways in an earthen grave 78,000 years ago, legs carefully tucked up against its tiny chest, is the earliest known human burial in Africa, researchers reported Wednesday.
