Spiritual guru and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra attacked evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins on Twitter this week.
Chopra directed a series of tweets at Dawkins after the prominent atheist said he worried some people were abandoning religion only to adopt New Age pseudoscience as their worldview.
"One of the problems is that the so-called 'nones' often give up religion for something even worse," Dawkins said at a recent Skeptics Society Conference at Caltech. "I mean, they take up Deepak Chopra or something like that."
Chopra first tweeted links to a number of articles mentioning Dawkins' comment, prefaced with "Ha ha."
Then he wondered whether Dawkins was intellectually challenged, and accused him of ignorance.
Earlier this year, Chopra engaged physicist Lawrence Krauss in a bizarre conversation on Twitter after Krauss tweeted a photograph of himself with Dawkins.
