New Late Show host Stephen Colbert confirmed on Tuesday that he used to be the lead singer of a Rolling Stones cover band, Vanity Fair reported.

"We were called A Shot In The Dark," Colbert told radio host Howard Stern. "We called ourselves 'A Sh*t In The Dark,, 'cause we sucked so badly."

"What was your go-to song when you were 'Mick Jagger'?" Stern asked.

"'Brown Sugar,'" Colbert said, before breaking into the song -- and his best Jagger shuffle -- at Stern's request.

"The dancing is great," Stern gushed, before cutting the song off and adding, "I've had enough of that."
