Tracey Morgan happily stuns Emmy watchers in first stage appearance since crash
In his first television appearance since being seriously injured in a 2014 highway collision, comedian Tracy Morgan presented the 2015 Emmy Award for Best Dramatic Series on Sunday night.
Morgan strode out to mid-stage and said, “Thank you so much. I missed you guys so much.”
“Last year, Jimmy Kimmel stood on this stage and said, ‘We’ll see you back here next year, Tracy Morgan,'” the former 30 Rock cast member said.
“Well, Jimmy, thanks to my amazing doctors and the support of my family, my beautiful new wife,” he said, “I’m here.”
Morgan’s limousine was struck by a 18-wheeler truck when its driver fell asleep at the wheel in June of 2014. Morgan suffered numerous injuries and comedy writer James McNair was killed in the accident.
