'Trump farted': Twitter hammers the media for interrupting Brussels coverage with inane interviews

After a pair of explosions rocked Brussels, Belgium, the TV news media turned to Donald Trump -- their go-to candidate on terrorism and foreign policy.

The Republican presidential candidate's Twitter post reacting to the bombings was widely quoted in print and digital media, and he phoned in additional remarks to Fox News and other TV networks.

That amounted to more free airtime to broadcast his anti-Muslim campaign message.

Many Twitter users wondered why Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential frontrunner and the former Secretary of State, was not booked onto the same TV appearances.

Twitter users also questioned the actual value of the insights offered by Trump's analysis.
