Police in Brussels used water cannons to chase off right-wing protesters who attempted to hijack the March Against Fear memorial in Place de la Bourse on Sunday.
According to reports, the protesters trampled tributes to the victims of the recent bombings and harassed Muslim women in the crowd with Nazi salutes and chants.
A phalanx of police moved in to restore order before turning the water cannons on the protesters and driving them down the street to the cheers of the crowd.
On Saturday, Brussels authorities had asked that the march be postponed due to security concerns.
