Former Republican President George H.W. Bush will be voting not for his party's nominee this year in Donald Trump, but Hillary Clinton, Politico reported.
Ex-Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend -- the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy -- said on Facebook Bush told her he planned to vote for Clinton, and doubled down on the allegation in a separate interview with Politico.
"That's what he said," Townsend insisted.
A spokesperson for the former president, Jim McGrath, said that Bush had no comment on Townsend's allegation.
"The vote President Bush will cast as a private citizen in some 50 days will be just that: a private vote cast in some 50 days," said McGrath.
