WATCH: After bombing in his own debate, Trump takes credit for Pence's VP debate performance

Mike Pence performed quite well in Tuesday night's vice-presidential debate, and Republican nominee gave all the credit where it was due: To himself.

Speaking during a rally in Nevada on Wednesday, Trump wasted no time praising Pence's performance, although he couldn't possibly praise Pence without making it all about himself.

"Mike Pence did an incredible job and I’m getting a lot of credit because that’s really my first so-called choice," he said. "That was my first hire!"

Of course, reports from this past summer indicated that Trump was incredibly reluctant to pick Pence, and during his introduction to Pence, he infamously talked about himself for 30 minutes before actually introducing his VP nominee.

And then there's the fact that Trump also badly botched his own first debate performance, even though he kept insisting that he really won it by citing unscientific online polls.
