The Florida Satanist who got a 50-foot "Festivus" pole made of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer cans erected on the grounds of Florida's state capitol building is back with a special new Trump-era holiday display.
According to Hemant Mehta at The Friendly Atheist, free-speech advocate and provocateur Chaz Stevens erected a so-called "Distress-ivus Pole the Orange Hindenburg Edition" alongside the nativity display at the courthouse in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
"Recognizing Donald’s hands, we’ve made this year’s pole smaller. Standing a dwarfish five-feet tall, Distress-ivus features an upside-down American flag (signaling the distress of 2.5 million American who represented the voting majority), the infamous red ball cap, and a giant safety pin," said Stevens in a statement.
He has also received permission to post similar monuments in the Florida state capitol building and the Washington state capitol. He has applied to erect a monument in Chicago and has also asked Deerfield's city fathers if he may burn the Distress-ivus pole in effigy.
He has yet to receive a reply.
