Morning Joe lashes out in Vanity Fair after Chris Cuomo pins him as Trump’s ‘spokesman'

Joe Scarborough has taken a lot of criticism for his MSNBC show's cozy relationship with President-elect Donald Trump -- and he's getting awfully defensive about it.

Mediaite notes that in an interview with Scarborough, Vanity Fair's Emily Jane Fox asks him to respond to recent criticism from rival CNN morning host Chris Cuomo, who last month bashed the team at Morning Joe for being longtime "boosters" of Trump's campaign who are now his unofficial "transition spokesmen."

Scarborough responded by saying that Cuomo is crazy.

"You have to take whatever Chris Cuomo says or retweets with a grain of salt because he also retweeted something saying that Morning Joe was a racist show," he said. "Unfortunately, he’s obviously unhinged by something."

Scarborough went onto describe his show's contacts with Trump as fairly limited, and he said that nothing the show has done could be described as being pro-Trump propaganda.

"The conversations we’ve had, I talk about them on the air," Scarborough said. "I don’t say anything to him and Mika doesn’t say anything to him that we don’t say on the show. It’s transparent."
