Stephen Colbert nails Romney for bowing to Trump: 'I bet those frog's legs taste like Trump's balls'

Stephen Colbert returned from a break to mock Mitt Romney's humiliating meal with Donald Trump at a fancy New York City restaurant.

"The 'billionaire of the people' ordered young garlic soup with thyme and sautéed frog legs," Colbert said. "I thought he said he was going to drain the swamp, not eat its contents."

Reporters knew what the pair ordered because they received a tip about the dinner, and some of them made reservations so they could cover their meeting about the State Department -- which resulted in a widely shared photo of Romney looking embarrassed as Trump grins like the cat who ate the canary.

"Trump is ditching the White House press corps like they're paparazzi," Colbert said, noting that the president-elect had not held a news conference since July.

Colbert couldn't believe Romney, even with the possibility of becoming Trump's secretary of state, had debased himself by dining with a man he once called "a phony and a fraud," and whose promises were as worthless as a degree from his bogus university.

“I bet those frog's legs taste a little bit like Trump's balls,” Colbert said.
