Popular comedian -- and prolific fundraiser for muscular dystrophy research -- Jerry Lewis has passed away, the New York Daily News is reporting.
According to a tweet from a reporter at the Las Vegas Review Journal, "Legendary entertainer Jerry Lewis passed away peacefully today of natural causes at 91 at his home w/ family by his side.”
The Daily News goes on to note, "the 45-year host of tear-jerking annual TV telethons that raised a staggering $2.6 billion for muscular dystrophy research."
Lewis appeared in more than 50 films during a career.
