Education secretary Betsy DeVos on Thursday announced the department will rewrite Obama-era policy for investigating sexual assaults on college campuses. DeVos, who met with men’s rights activists earlier this summer, promised the Trump administration’s approach to campus sexual assaults will be “centered around equal opportunity and equal protection for all,” arguing too often the accused are not given a voice in college disciplinary proceedings.
News that DeVos—the education secretary appointed by a president who once famously bragged about committing sexual assault—is actively working to roll back measures designed to protect victims of sexual assault—enraged the Internet on Thursday.
