President Donald Trump may be headed to his "Winter White House" at Mar-A-Lago to celebrate Christmas with his family, but for CNN's Jake Tapper (and much of America), it's a "Festivus for the rest of us."

Referencing the classic December 23 "holiday" from Seinfeld, Tapper claimed that the ritualistic "airing of grievances has begun."

Despite Trump touting the "achievements" scored in his first year in office, Republicans, Tapper and his panelists said, are headed into the 2018 midterm elections with more intra-GOP splits than ever before.

As CNN White House correspondent Sara Murray noted, the Republican National Committee leader Ronna Romney McDaniel, who was "hand-picked by the president" to lead the committee, warned the president that "the party's support with female voters is collapsing."

"So, yes, the president got his tax reform win," Murray continued, "he's sort of riding that wave of victory, but it could be short-lived and we could see Republican infighting as soon as January when they have this whole list of priorities they kicked down the line come to fruition."
