After her daughter was expelled from the University of Alabama for posting a racist rant on Instagram, the mother of the sorority girl is glad her child is being punished.
"I agree with the punishment,” Harley Barber's mother, Jill Barbera, told The Washington Post.
Earlier this week, a video of Barber repeatedly using the n-word on Martin Luther King Jr. Day went viral, leading to major backlash and her eventual expulsion.
"This is not a reflection of how she was raised," the girl's mother said. "She’s just degrading herself and it breaks my heart. I hope someone can look at this and learn. I don’t want anyone to feel what I feel.”

@JoeNBC @morningmikaThis is Harley Barber. Harley Barber is AΦ and thinks that she can throw around the N word and not be held accountable for her actions. @UofAlabama let’s prove her wrong. Racism and Bigotry will not and can not be tolerated. pic.twitter.com/qxeUgwV20g
