The attacks are continuing on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as Republicans decide the freshman Congresswoman is their latest enemy they intend to make the poster child for the Democratic Party. While the young official spent the week being educated on what anti-Semitic tropes are, conservative media has worked to find ways to take everything she says out of context and turn it into a conspiracy theory.
Meanwhile, Fox News is doing everything they can to draw charges of anti-Semitism away from top Republicans who've been caught with their own anti-Semitic social media posts. President Donald Trump alone has been caught using anti-Semitic tropes as "jokes."
Host Jeanine Pirro was the latest to attack Omar by using Islamophobic attacks on her hijab. According to Pirro, because Omar wears the religious headscarf, it means she supports Sharia Law. The claim is a curious one, since Omar was elected as a Democrat. Party members, including Omar, believe in feminism and empowering women, LGBTQ equality, denouncing racism and other progressive policies that are antithetical to Sharia Law. Fox News hosts along with most Republicans support a Christian version of Sharia Law.
Twitter users called out the Pirro's xenophobia and schooled her on actual facts about "religious liberty" and "religious freedom," she purports to uphold.
