Last week, as Americans focused on the Supreme Court's rulings on the Affordable Care Act and Arizona's new anti-immigrant law, a "disturbing" decision got lost in the shuffle.
Knox v. Service Employees International Union [SEIU], Local 1000 restricts the financial power of organized labor by restricting union dues used for political action.
Knox "is just the latest attack in the ongoing battle against labor. And like the fight in Wisconsin and other states, it focuses on public sector unions – in part because they’re the greatest remaining bastion of labor’s power," according to Moyers & Company.
