Nevada Republicans are scared of "None of the Above," Stephen Colbert said Tuesday on "The Colbert Report," and that's why they have filed a federal lawsuit to remove that option from their state's ballots before the presidential election.

The move is important, Colbert said, because of the undecided voters in Nevada, a swing state, where voters have had that option on the ballot since 1978.

"The fate of our country is now in the hands of the people who don't think about what they want until they get right up to the register at McDonald's," he said.

Colbert pointed to a story in the National Journal saying state Republicans are afraid voters would rather not vote for anyone rather than vote for Mitt Romney, and said they were right be scared, given Romney's

"Remember, Mitt's not telling us how he's gonna fix the economy, or what tax loopholes he's going to close, or what his immigration policy is going to be," Colbert said. "The whole message of his campaign is, 'I'm not Barack Obama,' and you can't get more 'Not Barack Obama' than 'No One.'"
