Current TV host Jennifer Granholm on Monday said that while the Republican Party considered itself "pro-life," they were more concerned with the unborn than the recently born.
"Republicans are definitely pro-birth," she said. "They will do everything they can to make sure the baby comes out, regardless of how it got in. But are they pro-life?"
Granholm said Republican policies, particularly the Paul Ryan budget plan, hurt needy children.
"Paul Ryan's cut at all costs budget and philosophy, which 100 percent of pro-life Republicans voted for, that budget would gut the funding that supports at risk babies and children," she explained. "Food stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, day care, Head Start, early childhood education, child health care."
She concluded that Republicans "obsession" with being pro-life only lasted about nine months.
