Bomber injured in Ireland after he forgets to set his watch ahead for the time change

Police said a mix-up with daylight saving time might have caused a car bomb to blow up in Ireland before it was intended, injuring the bomber but no one else.

The unidentified bomber fled shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday from a Volvo SUV that exploded in Dublin when the device went off in his face, police said.

The man was “dripping in blood” and got into a taxi, witnesses said.

Clocks in Ireland were turned ahead at 1 a.m. Sunday by one hour.

A house near the vehicle had its doors and windows blown off, authorities said.

The suspect has not been identified, and detectives are trying to determine whether he was connected to a criminal gang.

The vehicle’s owner runs a nearby business, and police said the SUV was apparently targeted in the botched attack.
