Police are seeking multiple suspects in the fatal shooting of a tow truck driver in Los Angeles.
The 50-year-old driver, whose name was not released, had legally repossessed a car shortly before 4 a.m. from a 7-Eleven parking lot in Compton, reported KTLA-TV.
Multiple vehicles followed the tow truck driver from the convenience store parking lot before opening fire, police said.
I know that he stopped, and then whoever it was (and) hopped out of the car and they pulled out a gun, and he tried to take off,” said Gregory Williams, a friend of the driver’s.
The wounded driver then collided with a car in an intersection, and he was pronounced dead a short time later at an area hospital.
No arrests have been made in the driver’s death, and police aren’t sure how many suspects were involved in the shooting.
