Cincinnati talk radio host accused of shooting wife in back during argument

A Cincinnati talk show host claims he accidentally shot his wife in the back Tuesday during an argument outside their home.

Blake Seylhouwer, who hosts Small Business Sunday on WKRC-AM, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence in the shooting.

He called 911 just before 3 p.m. and said his .30-06 rifle accidentally discharged as he removed it from his car's trunk, but Madeira police determined he purposefully fired the rifle at Misty Seylhouwer when she turned her back during the dispute in their driveway.

Misty Seylhouwer was struck by bullet fragments in her chest, leg, neck, and head but is expected to recover.

She requested a temporary restraining order requiring her husband to stay away from her while the criminal case is prosecuted.

He pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning at his arraignment, and a judge set bond at $250,000.

The 37-year-old Blake Seylhouwer is president and owner of Jani-King, a green commercial cleaning service franchise, and a private commercial real-estate investment firm.

His wife is listed on her Facebook page as an executive producer for WKRC.

The couple has two children, and they moved from Texas to Madeira about two years ago for the suburban town’s school district.

But some of their property sits within the Cincinnati Public School district, and the couple has a Sept. 9 hearing before the State Board of Education to transfer their home to the suburban district.
