A North-Miami man is in custody after spending a day beating his girlfriend, slashing her with a knife, and even assaulting his own dog because he dreamed the woman was cheating on him.
Carlos Gascon, 27, has been charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, domestic battery by strangulation, battery, false imprisonment and animal cruelty, reports the Miami Herald.
According to Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Becky Herrin, the victim stated that Gascon "was angry at her because he had a dream she was cheating on him."
Authorities said Gascon attacked the woman and "cut the back of her leg with a knife, poured hot coffee on her, choked her, held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. He also reportedly picked her up and slammed her down on a glass table, breaking it."
The woman also told police that Gascon, "picked up his dog, slammed it on the ground and then put his foot on the dog's neck."
The woman was able to contact police at 6:45 p.m. Friday evening after Gascon finally passed out in her home.
Gascon is currently in custody with bail set at $265,000
