Fox host Bill O'Reilly called upon the director of Centers for Disease Control to resign, accusing him of being a "propagandist" who is "spinning" the American public on the dangers of the Ebola virus.

O'Reilly criticized CDC Director Dr.Tom Frieden, an expert in infectious diseases, stating his assertions that Ebola was unlikely to ravage the US were, "a dumb and dangerous ruse."

O'Reilly called for banning admission of citizens from West African nations into the US, calling it a "national security issue," and complained that using airport screeners looking for people possibly infected with virus was "stupid and irresponsible and puts all Americans at risk.”

Complaining that Dr. Frieden has refused to appear on his show, O'Reilly called Frieden's recommendation to not ban flights from West Africa "total garbage," despite the fact the citizens from West African nations could catch connecting flights from major European cities.

"We have asked Dr. Friedan a number of times to appear on The Factor," O'Reilly said. "He will not because he is afraid. He knows that I know that he is not being candid. That he is spinning the situation and not binge forthcoming about how the disease is being spread."

O'Reilly continued, "Friedan should resign, as he well knows."

Later in the show, after complaining about the Obama Administration's handling of ISIS, O'Reilly once again returned to Friedan, shouting, "Resign! Have a little dignity."
