Florida man shot by Florida puppy

Published

on

A Florida man is facing charges of animal cruelty after being shot by a puppy he was trying to kill.

According to the Associated Press, Jerry Allen Bradford, 37, was in the process of killing a litter of 3-month-old shepherd-mix dogs by shooting them in the head, when one that he was carrying got its tiny paw on the trigger of the gun and shot him instead.

According to Pensacola sheriff’s Sgt. Ted Roy, Bradford was trying to kill the puppies because he couldn’t find homes for them

A search at Bradford’s home turned up a shallow grave with three puppies in it.

The four remaining puppies were described as being in good health and were taken to Escambia County Animal Control, which planned to make them available for adoption.
