Larry David made $5,000 from Latino Rights PAC for calling Trump a ‘racist’ on Saturday Night Live

Published

on

Comedian Larry David is going to be picking up a $5,000 bounty for calling billionaire businessman and GOP presidential contender Donald Trump a “racist” on national TV.

Earlier in the week, the DeportRacism.com PAC offered a $5,000 reward to anyone who called Trump a racist on-air during Saturday Night Live.

During the show’s opening monologue — with Trump flanked by cast members Taran Killiam and Darrell Hammond both made up as Trump — David heckled the blustery businessman from offstage, repeatedly yelling, “You’re a racist. Trump’s a racist.”

Asked by Trump why he was doing it, David replied, “I heard if I yelled that, they’d give me $5000.”

Despite being written as part of the opening, DeportRacism is making good on their promise.

According to a press release issued before the show was broadcast on the west coast, Luke Montgomery, campaign director for DeportRacism, said the PAC was “excited” to award the money to David.

“We are excited to reward the Larry David with $5,000 cash for ‘standing up’ to Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live and speaking the truth about his anti-Latino racism, even though he was joking,” Montgomery said. ” There’s nothing funny about calling Mexican immigrants rapists, murderers and drug dealers. You could never get away with saying that about African-Americans, so why is it OK to say it about Latinos? Trump’s attacks on the rights of U.S.-born American citizens calling them ‘anchor babies’ and threatening to tear up the U.S. constitution to strip them of their rights is un-American and offensive. We need to deport racism, not people.”

Who are all these white men running for president — and why?

Published

on

The country’s last presidential election was wide open, with incumbent president Barack Obama termed out of office and his vice president, Joe Biden, opting not to run as his replacement. While the vacancy looked like an opportunity for the 16 Republican men (and one woman) who ran in 2016, Democrats essentially cleared the field for Hillary Clinton, the first woman to win the party’s presidential nomination. Her only two challengers were white men; one who eventually became a star at the center of his own political movement and the other who was shortly reduced to strumming his guitar shirtless for attention.
