GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at a luncheon at the Omni Houston at Westside, Saturday afternoon that the campaign has made off-limits to the general public and the national media who have been accompanying him.

The luncheon is hosted by the Remembrance Project, a Houston-based nonprofit advocates for families whose relatives were killed by undocumented immigrants.

Trump's avoidance of the media comes one day after he was harshly criticized for turning a big announcement over his contention that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya into a promotional event for his new Washington DC hotel
