GOP Sen. Ayotte bails on ‘woman assaulting’ Trump: I will be writing in Pence on election day
What started out as a trickle Friday turned into a flood Saturday morning as another GOP senator — this one a woman –abandoned the new face of the Republican Party.
Writing on Twitter, New Hampshire Sen. Keylly Ayotte said that, as a mom, she cannot vote for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
“I’m a mom and an American first, and I cannot and will not support a candidate for president who brags about degrading and assaulting women. I will not be voting for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton and instead will be writing in Governer Pence on Election Day.
Ayotte, who is in danger of losing her seat, has spent the past week walking back comments about Trump as a role model for her children.
