Republican Ana Navarro has been a longtime critic of President-elect Donald Trump -- but she feels a little bit relieved over the past two days now that Trump has chosen two "qualified" people to serve as UN ambassador and education secretary.
Asked to comment on Trump's selections of Nikki Haley and Betsy DeVos, Navarro said that they are both two "very skilled, very qualified women" -- and added that they offered a stark contrast with some of the other people whom Trump has picked.
"You may disagree with them on ideology, but it is hard to find a character issue to go after these women on," Navarro said. "These are the first appointments he makes where you don't want to run into the kitchen, grab a necklace of garlic, and put it around your neck to ward them off."
She also said it was good to see that Trump has stopped attacking the cast of Hamilton and has instead mostly "laid low."
