New York Times columnist Charles Blow did not mince words in an online confrontation with former CNN host and U.K. tabloid impresario Piers Morgan.
Morgan took a swipe at Blow after Blow's Thursday morning editorial column said that he would not be making nice with President-elect Donald Trump any time soon.
"Strong words, just might have been more courageous to say them to Trump's face when he went to NYT offices. Bit gutless doing it after, no?" tweeted Morgan.

Blow responded, "F*** you Piers. How's that for strong words?"

"Again, more courageous to say it to my face. Happy Thanksgiving, Charles," sniped Morgan.

In his column on Thursday, Blow called Trump a "charlatan and a fraud" and said that if he had been at Trump's meeting with the Times' editorial board, he would not have been as cordial.
"The very idea of sitting across the table from a demagogue who preyed on racial, ethnic and religious hostilities and treating him with decorum and social grace fills me with disgust, to the point of overflowing,” he said. “Let me tell you here where I stand on your ‘I hope we can all get along’ plea: Never.”
Blow responded to Morgan only once, but the former voice mail hacker and failed U.S. talk show host continued to fire barbs at Blow.
No, I know Charles & like him. He's just hit peak Clintonite fury at Trump's win & needs to calm down. https://t.co/dW1YsS6FSX— Piers Morgan (@Piers Morgan) 1479999402.0

Very convenient for a keyboard warrior. He should have been in the room, saying it to Trump's face. https://t.co/017RNrLsTx— Piers Morgan (@Piers Morgan) 1480000227.0
I see. And how many fearless NYT hacks told him that when he went to their office? Ah yes, that would be none. https://t.co/J9NtUyR4ND— Piers Morgan (@Piers Morgan) 1480001519.0
