CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert was all over one of Donald Trump's biggest boosters on Wednesday night, poking fun at the Arizona man who chanted "Jew-S-A!" before the cameras covering a Trump rally.

According to an interview with the man -- George Lindell --  after the video went viral, he claimed that he did it to show solidarity with all of Trump's Mexican fans in the arena.

That is where Colbert stepped in.

"You know. All the Mexicans who go to Trump rallies," Colbert sarcastically said. "Here's the deal. Lindell said that a group of Mexicans at the rally-- again, this huge group of Mexicans who go to Trump rallies-- had stopped chanting 'U.S.A!' because, 'it came out sounding like 'joo s.a.,' and 'they felt the wouldn't fit in because of their accent,' you see?"

"It was innocent, it was so innocent." the CBS host continued. "He's just a poor man trying to make the Mexicans feel welcome so they would have fond memories of America after Trump loaded them on to the catapults to send them home."

Thinking better of it, Colbert added, "I'm going to call this the worst excuse of all time."
